On the eve of the holiday - Republic Day, the event "Mаngilik zhasa, kyran elim - Kazakystanym!" was held at Al-Farabi KazNU. The ceremony was organised by the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law.
Students and teachers took part in the event, which aimed to promote patriotism, national unity and respect for the country's history among young people.
After congratulating all those present on the occasion, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazNU - the first Pro-Rector Erkin Duisenov noted: "Republic Day is an important historical event for our country. On 16 July 2022, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev proposed to return the holiday - Republic Day. Thus, this is a great holiday, which laid the foundation of our independence, determined the future of our country", - said the Vice-Rector.
The welcome speech was also delivered by Professor Musabek Alimbekov, Doctor of Law, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Candidate of Law, Professor Ualikhan Akhatov, Head of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, Professor Guldana Kunalieva, Doctor of Law, who called on the youth to be patriots of their country.
‘In the great steppe of the country, brave batyrs and statesmen lived in different times. Each of them made a great contribution to the development and prosperity of our country. Kazakhstan's path to sovereignty is a historical period that will forever remain in the memory of every Kazakh. Today we, the future generation, remember the historical dates that have become a symbol of independence and freedom for us,’ said Dana Bolys, a 2nd year Master's student at the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management.
As part of the festive event dedicated to the promotion of national and cultural values, songs performed by famous Kazakh pop artists were performed, and a concert programme organised by students of the Faculty of Law was presented to the participants.
