The first meeting of the City People's Headquarters to support the construction of a nuclear power plant in Almaty was held in the first week of September. The staff included representatives from various public organizations, scientists, experts, and activists. Among them were the Head of the Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor M. E. Abishev, and PhD Senior Lecturer A. K. Bekbayev. They provided explanatory information through media outlets regarding the need for building a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.
