A few words about the charity choir "April" and its cooperation with the Kazakh National University.

The choir "April" was founded in April 2015 by Galina Dotsenko and Yan Rudkovsky.

Only 10 people were present at the first rehearsal. Today, 9 years after its foundation, the choir has increased to 70 people. It has united people of different ages, professions and nationalities with their love for music. Almost from the very beginning, the professor of the Department of Languages ​​and General Education Disciplines for Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-University Education of the KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanar A. Nurshaikhova has been singing in this choir. The choir is growing and refining. The works are sung in 6 voices.

The choir's repertoire is very diverse - from folk songs to classics in different languages ​​of the world.  Since 2015 the choir led by the Merited Master of the Arts Yan Rudkovsky, has held more than 30 concerts.

June 26, 2019, the choir celebrated 70th birthday of Professor Nurshaikhova Zh.A. in the assembly hall of the faculty of pre-university education of Al-Farabi KazNU.

The "April" choir is a charity choir. It takes part in various charity events, festivals, marathons, and all the proceeds are donated to charity. During its existence, the choir has taken part in 15 different charity events.  Over the past 3 years, with a break for the pandemic, the choir gave 4 reporting concerts, collecting 1,741,411 tenge. This money was transferred to the "Giving Joy" project, medicaments were purchased for the wards of the "Amila" charity foundation, and New Year's gifts were bought for the wards of the children's hospice. For 5 years, the ALMA U University provided a venue for the concerts of the "April" choir free of charge, thus helping children with cancer.

Over the past 9 years, the rehearsals of the choir were held in a variety of places. This includes Almaty Music College, Kazakh National Conservatoire, and Kazakh National University. In 2018-2019, the rehearsal venue was the assembly hall of the Faculty of Pre-University Education on Bogenbai-batyr/Masanchi. Now, for 5 years, the choir has been rehearsing in the building of the Tatar-Bashkir Center "Idel".    In the 2020-2021 academic year, the Faculty of International Relations also gave the choir the opportunity to rehearse in large auditoriums in its building.  We would like to note that all the places where the choir rehearsed were provided free of charge, for which the choir staff expresses its gratitude to everyone.This is also an act of charity.
