INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE OF NPP CONSTRUCTION DISCUSSED
On 02.10.2024, as part of the implementation of the SDG program No. 17 - "Partnership for the Goals," Senior Lecturer at the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law of the Faculty of Law of KazNU, S. M. Zhapakov, and Associate Professor, Ph.D. B. Kalymbek held a guest lecture on the topic "International Experience in Nuclear Power Plant Construction." The guest lecture was delivered by the engineer of the industrial zone of Almaty, Sagalov M. S.
In his lecture, Marat Sarkytbekovich noted that the construction and operation of nuclear power plants are among the most important strategies for meeting energy needs for many countries worldwide. Currently, more than 440 nuclear power plants are operating in 30 countries, and about 50 new plants are planned to be built. According to him, nuclear energy is an environmentally friendly and recognized long-term energy source because it has very low carbon dioxide emissions, which reduces its impact on climate change.
Alimkulov Erbol Temirkhanuly, Deputy Dean for Scientific Innovation and International Relations of the Faculty of Law, as well as teachers from the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, participated in the guest lecture and shared their thoughts.
At the end of the lecture, they answered students' questions, shared their experiences, and wished success to the students.
