Results of the 3rd School Works Competition "History of My Family in Archival Documents"

Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals No. 17. Partnership for Sustainable Development

Since 2022, the annual competition "History of My Family in Archival Documents" has been held with the support of the Almaty City Education Department in cooperation with the Republican Scientific and Research Center "Daryn". Within the framework of the competition, children learn the history of their country through the history of their family, and also develop an interest in searching for historical facts and studying family traditions. This year's competition was attended by students in grades 8-11 of secondary schools.

The aim of the competition is the intellectual and personal development of secondary school students, their mastery of methods and ways of conducting research in the field of history, involving young people in the study and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan, documentary sources related to national history, their native land, and family.

A special commission evaluated the works based on criteria such as the content of the research, the application of scientific methods, the use of archival documents, including family photographs.

According to the results of the competition:

• First place was taken by Zhansaya Satkhanbai, a student of school No. 41 named after A. Karsakbaev,
• Second place went to Andrey Ryabtsev, a student of Lakeview School, and
• Third place was shared by Ayana Serikhan, a student of the specialized lyceum No. 92 named after M. Gandhi, and Andrey Chernikov, a student of Lakeview School.

The winners and participants were awarded diplomas and valuable prizes.
