Ulpan is the first step towards gender equality
On October 24, 2024, the 2nd year students of «Translation studies» major together with their advisors Turekhanova R. A. and Tariova G. A. visited Gabit Musrepov Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth to see « Ulpan» play, one of the classic works of Kazakh literature.
Ulpan is portrayed as a strong, brave and independent character. Through her life the author calls for a deeper understanding of injustice in society, women's rights and their position in society.
In addition, through the plot and characters of the play, the author glorifies such moral values as love, family, and loyalty.
During the performance, the students saw stage scenes revealing national values, historical nature and human qualities of the Kazakh people, felt the harmony of literature and art. The students were particularly interested in the emotional and dramatic decisions of the characters of the play, the students realized the deep content of Kazakh literature and increased their interest in national art.
This event was held within the framework of SDG. 5 «Gender Equality» and as a result, the students got acquainted with the best heritage of Kazakh literature and theatrical art. They realized the role of performing arts in national culture and had an opportunity to expand their cultural consciousness.
After the performance, the students shared their impressions, discussed what they saw, and noted the importance of the theater in Kazakh culture and spiritual education.
