Halyk Academy’ laboratory was opened in KazNU

Halyk Academy’ laboratory was opened at the Faculty of Information Technologies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the support of JSC “Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan”.

 

The New Generation Training Laboratory was created to provide students with a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience in the field of finance. This, in turn, will contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists for the banking and finance sectors.

Official representatives of the Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, scientists and teachers of KazNU and students took part in the solemn event.

Congratulating the participants of the meeting on the opening of the laboratory, First Vice-Rector - Acting Deputy Chairman of the Board of Al-Farabi KazNU Erkin Duisenov noted: ‘On the basis of our joint partnership today opens the laboratory. This, in turn, is a unique opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge, which students receive in the walls of the university, with practice. The laboratory will not only contribute to the acquisition of knowledge and various skills in the financial sphere among students, but also to the successful work in this field, having a forecast for the future. Therefore, we are confident that our co-operation with the Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan will be further strengthened’, - said the Vice-Rector.

In turn, Dauren Sartaev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Halyk Bank, noted: ‘We are honoured to open our laboratory for students in one of the leading universities of Kazakhstan - Al-Farabi KazNU. Today, graduates of the Faculty of Information Technologies demonstrate their qualifications by working in various fields. The proof of this is Indira Ashirova, HR Director of our Halyk Bank, who is a graduate of this faculty and a professional in her field. The Faculty remains a great school with a strong foundation in maths, finance, IT’.

Today JSC Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan is not only the main partner of Al-Farabi KazNU, but also a joint developer and employer of the educational programme ‘Data Science/Data Science’ at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels. This approach will ensure consistency between the curriculum and professional standards, opening up a wide range of career opportunities for graduates and preparing them to work in the dynamically developing field of data science.

The programme of the opened laboratory for students will include lectures by banking experts, open days, as well as courses in banking specialties designed to meet modern industry requirements. In addition, the academy plans to develop research and technological development (R&D). This allows students and teachers to work on topical projects that contribute to the development of innovations in the financial sector.
