Participants of the pre-summit visited the sights of Almaty city
After the official closing of the pre-summit QS Higher Edicashion: Asia Pacific 2024, held at Al-Farabi KazNU, an excursion to the sights of Almaty was organised for the participants.
The programme included visits to the Medeu high-altitude skating rink, the Shymbulak ski resort, and the Great Almaty Gorge. The participants had a unique opportunity to get acquainted not only with the intellectual life of Kazakhstan, but also with its natural riches.
At Medeo, guests were able to appreciate the scale of the legendary high-altitude skating rink, soak up the spirit of sporting achievements and admire panoramic views of snow-covered mountain peaks. The ascent to Shymbulak gave participants breathtaking landscapes from a bird's eye view. Many took the opportunity to ride the cable car, admiring the outlines of the mountain ranges. The culmination of the excursion was a visit to the Big Almaty Gorge, Ayula waterfall. The excursion continued with a climb along the famous ‘Japanese Trail’.
For the guests of the QS Pre-Summit, this excursion was a bright end to their visit to Almaty, combining intellectual communication and active recreation in the lap of nature. The guests not only relaxed after a busy business programme, but also learned more about Kazakhstan's natural wealth and tourism potential.
