Expansion of partnership with Sumgayit State University

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Rector of Sumgayit State University Rufat Azizov.

 

During the talks, the parties discussed the expansion of partnership in higher education and science, and voiced a number of proposals.
At the meeting, the head of the university Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that KazNU pays special attention to the development of cooperation with Azerbaijani universities. The rector also familiarised the guests with the scientific infrastructure, providing information on the achievements and future plans of the university.

‘Currently, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University actively cooperates with 9 universities and scientific organisations in Azerbaijan. In the future, we are interested in close co-operation with Sumgayit State University. I believe that the potential of the two universities should be united to achieve common goals,’ the rector said.

At the end of the speech Zhanseit Tuimebaev proposed to develop cooperation on joint training of specialists, implementation of academic mobility programme, professional development of teachers.
In turn, Rufat Azizov thanked the leadership of KazNU for the attention and expressed support for all initiatives aimed at expanding the partnership.

‘Sumgayit State University has 7 faculties and 42 departments, scientific centres and laboratories of various directions. More than 5 thousand students are trained. We are always open and ready to develop partnership relations with KazNU,’ Rufat Azizov said.

During the talks, proposals were worked out on holding joint international conferences and symposiums, as well as on the implementation of a double-diploma education programme.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the systematic implementation of the voiced initiatives and exchanged memorable gifts.
