On September 20, students from the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics, Faculty of Physics and Technology at al-Farabi Kazakh National University, gathered for a discussion dedicated to the role of nuclear energy in securing a sustainable energy future.
The event sparked great interest among young people, who actively debated issues related to energy, nuclear safety, and the environmental consequences of building nuclear power plants.
During the discussion, participants were divided into teams and presented arguments both “do not mind” and “against” the development of nuclear energy. Key concepts, the history of nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan, and potential environmental impacts were discussed.
The winners received diplomas, and all participants acknowledged the importance of deepening their knowledge of nuclear energy to form a well-informed opinion about its role in the future of Kazakhstan and the world.
