KazNU students for an eco-friendly tomorrow
Last week, 3rd year students of the MCM specialty joined the "Collect Plastic" campaign. A Sparklo vending machine was installed on the university grounds in front of the rector's office, ready to accept plastic for recycling. Inspired by the opportunity to contribute to improving the environment, the students filled the vending machine with more than 30 plastic bottles with smiles on their faces — each bottle became a symbol of responsibility and love for nature.
For the students, this action turned out to be not only useful, but also fascinating — the simple act of collecting plastic brought them together and showed that even a small step can mean a lot. They not only collected and handed over the bottles, but also received a symbolic reward — bonus points in the app, which became a pleasant reminder that caring for the planet has its fruits.
The "Collect Plastic" event was held as part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The campaign is aimed at forming students' conscious attitude towards waste and resources. Recycling plastic bottles teaches us to see the value in each resource and creates the basis for responsible consumption, which is important in the context of a cyclical economy. Recycling plastic instead of dumping it is a direct contribution to reducing the carbon footprint and environmental pollution. By recycling plastic, the participants of the campaign contribute to the fight against climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting environmentally friendly solutions.
"Plastic collection is not just an action, it is a symbol that each of us can influence the future. Our students have once again proved that a responsible attitude towards nature begins with small steps that everyone can take",- said the teacher.
The students enthusiastically stated that they would continue this initiative on their own, contributing daily to the cleanliness of the planet. The Collect Plastic campaign is just the beginning of a long journey, but it is with such small steps that the future we choose begins.
