Al-Farabi KazNU hosted intellectual debates on the topic “Contribution of student youth to improve financial literacy of the population of Kazakhstan”, organized by the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Higher School of Economics and Business.
12 teams took part in the intellectual debate competition: “Insight” (Turan-Astana University, Astana), ‘TarFin’ (Taraz Regional University named after M.H. Dulati), ‘Farabi Phenomena’ (KazNU named after Al-Farabi), ‘Impulse’ (Caspian University), ‘Talhiz’ and ‘Divan Analysts’ (Narxoz University). Al-Farabi), “Impulse” (Caspian University), “Talhiz” and “Divan Analysts” (Narxoz University), “QADAM” and “Neratores” (Turan University), “UIB Fatality” (University of International Business), as well as “Financiers” (Almaty Management University).
Active participation in the organization and conduct of the competition was taken by: the head of the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi G. Kerimbek, the teaching staff of the department, including A. Asilova, G. Supugalieva, J. Jorabaeva, T. Zhumadilova, and students of the 4th year of the educational program “Finance”.
The competition was held in several stages. Participants performed tasks and discussed topical issues of financial policy. The team of KazNU “Phenomena Farabi”, having shown knowledge and resourcefulness, took the honorable third place in the Kazakh and Russian groups.
The event contributed not only to the deepening of financial knowledge of students, but also to the improvement of financial literacy, development of professional potential, formation of qualified specialists.
