SDG 4. QUALITY EDUCATION: "THE POWER OF MYTHS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL REALISM IN ZHUSUPBEK QORGOSBEK’S WORKS: A MEETING WITH THE AUTHOR"
On November 13, 2024, Gulnar Akhmetova, the first-year PhD student of "8D02310 - Innovative Literary Studies" major conducted a demo seminar on the topic: "The power of myths and psychological realism in the works by Zhusupbek Qorgosbek: a meeting with the author" on the subject "Contemporary Kazakh Short Stories and Novels" within the framework of "SDG 4. Quality Education." The renowned writer and journalist Zhusupbek Qorgosbek, the Director of the M. O. Auezov Manuscript and Textology Center at the Institute of Literature and Art, Candidate of Philological Sciences Rakysh Zhumashay Sailaukyzy, the senior lecturer and the subject teacher of the Department of Kazakh literature and literary theory Shokan Amangeldiuly Shortanbay, leading researcher at M. O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art , PhD Ainur Akhmetova, as well as first-year doctoral students were present at the demo seminar.
The main objective of the event was to explore the role of myths in the genre of prose within modern Kazakh literature by introducing the audience to the creative process of the writer Zhusupbek Qorgosbek. During the event, students analyzed the central themes and ideas in the writer's prose works. The demo seminar session was structured around interactive communication, fostering a dialogue between the writer and the readers through questions and answers. This demo seminar, employing educational methods and leveraging the opportunities provided by digital technology, fostered a comprehensive understanding of Zhusupbek Qorgosbek's works from multiple perspectives. At the end of the seminar, the students filled out an evaluation form and provided feedback in response to the questions, "What impression did I get from the lesson?" and "What conclusion did I reach?"
