National Values in the Dialogue of Civilizations
As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiative in the “Education” category, on November 18, a creative and educational team competition titled “National Values in the Dialogue of Civilizations” was held. The event was organized by senior lecturers of the Philosophy Department, Gulnar Sembaeva and Zhadyra Kazieva, within the framework of the IX “Kassymzhanov Readings,” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Kazakh National University and World Philosophy Day. Fourth-year philosophy students actively participated in the competition, showcasing their intellectual and creative abilities. The Head of the Philosophy Department, Associate Professor Aset Abayuly Kuranbek, delivered an opening speech at the event, wishing the participants success. Faculty members K. Dautaliyev, D. Balabekuly, B. Atash, and N. Zhanyskhyzy acted as judges and contributed significantly to the competition.The competition consisted of three rounds. The first round, aimed at introductions, required teams to highlight the cultural characteristics and national values of the ethnic group assigned to them by lot. The second round, called “Home Assignment,” featured performances prepared in advance, demonstrating the traditions and customs of various nations. The third round was an intellectual contest, where teams answered diverse questions about the philosophy and cultural values of the nation they represented. Students representing Kazakh, Japanese, and Indian cultures and values demonstrated a high level of preparation. The educational event successfully fulfilled its goal of emphasizing the importance of national values as a foundation for educating future generations. At the end of the competition, outstanding students were awarded various prizes and certificates of recognition.
