22 november, 2024

On November 22, 2024, within the framework of SDG-16 «Peace, Justice and effective institutions», as well as on the eve of the international campaign «16 days of active action against violence», a leadership lecture was held with students of the 307 academic group and 2nd year undergraduates at the «Zhansaya» crisis Center of the Department of Employment and Social Programs in Almaty.

The lecturers are Tatyana Anatolyevna Мido, Deputy director of the «Zhansaya» Center, and Gulshara Maratovna Saparova, a lawyer at the center.

The organizer is Associate professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law Kultemirova Leila Timurovna.

The problem of domestic violence is relevant for most countries of the world community. In Kazakhstan, it has been publicly recognized and talked about since 1993, when they intensified their work and began to take the initiative of public organizations, openly raising the problem.

Countering domestic violence is one of the important directions of the state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since it is about the national interests of the state – the spiritual and moral values of society, human rights and freedoms.

The causes of domestic violence, law enforcement practice, the interaction of state and public organizations – these and other issues formed the basis of the lecture.

During the meeting, the guys received a lot of new information that gives an idea of the forms and methods of countering domestic violence. They were also able to directly see the work of the «Zhansaya» crisis center, whose main task is to provide psychological, legal and social assistance to victims of violence. One of the surprising moments was the scale and quality of the work carried out by the staff of the center, as well as the living conditions for victims of violence. After learning that there are a large number of small children in the Center with their mothers, the guys brought treats with them that will please any child.

Classes of this format allow students to see various aspects of the work on the protection of human rights carried out in Kazakhstan.
