The strategy of sustainable energy development is considered
In the last week of November, Associate Professor of the UNESCO Department of Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences Abdibattayeva M. M. held an open lecture on the topic "Energy of sustainable development" for 2nd year undergraduates of the specialty "7M05209 Geoecology and Environmental Management" and 2nd year undergraduates of the L. N.Gumilev Eurasian National University. During the lecture, specific examples and research results on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the energy sector were noted.
The 7th Sustainable Development Goal is low-cost and clean energy. This goal is based on ensuring access to affordable, reliable, clean and modern energy sources for everyone in the world, improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental impacts through the use of renewable energy sources.
In 2023, energy derived from sustainable energy sources in the world accounted for 30% of total energy production, and this figure is projected to reach 50% by 2030. The country is implementing the Green Economy program for the development of renewable energy sources and it is planned to increase this figure to 10% by 2030.
Following the results of the event, the participating undergraduates expressed their point of view on improving energy efficiency and economical use of natural resources in the future, and an exchange of views took place in the audience.
