November 8, 2024 as part of the implementation of SDG 5 "Gender Equality", students of the OP "International Law" of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with teacher Tusupova A.Zh., took part in the Annual SPL Forum on the topic: "Political and legal aspects of combating gender inequality and domestic violence in the Republic of Kazakhstan" conducted by ALMAU (Almaty Management University)

The SPL 2024 Forum gathered a large number of participants represented by Kazakhstani scientists and experts on gender issues, legal practitioners, representatives of the law community, the judiciary, the Prosecutor's Office, as well as the National Commission on Women's Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. KAZNU students actively participated in the discussion of issues related to combating gender inequality and domestic violence, as well as in their speeches raised issues related to women's rights to flexible working hours and access to childcare services, revealed the role of international agreements on gender equality and the involvement of countries in addressing issues related to gender discrimination, the impact of gender inequality on international conflicts and security, the place and role of women in military conflicts, as well as issues of improving the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of combating domestic violence, including tougher penalties for crimes related to domestic violence, including the application of stricter measures to repeat offenders and many others.
