"Conservation and sustainable development of oceans, seas and marine resources"

12/09/2024 4th year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of the Far East, Department of Korean Studies held an open discussion on the topic “Conservation and rational use of oceans, seas and marine resources in the interests of sustainable development” within the framework of the SDGs.

Our students presented ways to fight towards the conservation and protection of marine ecosystems of the country of study (Republic of Korea) and the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussion forum addressed issues of caring for marine protected areas, technologies for water purification and combating plastic waste, ways to prevent major threats, create conditions for marine life and create an environment suitable for their full life. Each group presented ways and means to protect the seas of the two countries, their rational use and increase potential in the future, and also exchanged views by asking mutual questions.

Water is very important for humanity, so it is the responsibility of each of us to preserve and maintain the marine ecosystem.
