On December 2, 2024, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a guest lecture for master's and doctoral students. The lecture was organized as part of the open meeting of the "Writing" research club. It was dedicated to modern approaches to preparing scientific papers and analytical reports in social and humanitarian sciences. The speaker, Yermek Baurzhanovich Toktarov, head of the Center for Digital Social and Humanitarian Sciences of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science, and Religious Studies, shared his expertise. He introduced participants to digital technologies and methods that can enhance the quality of scientific research and analytical reports. The primary focus was on how modern technologies help advance achievements in the context of sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 – Quality education.

Key Topics of the Lecture:

Stages of Writing Scientific Papers and Reports. Yermek Baurzhanovich provided a detailed overview of the main stages of writing scientific articles and reports, from forming a research idea and selecting appropriate methodologies to data visualization and presenting results. He demonstrated how modern data analysis tools help structure information and ensure scientific rigour and precision.

Use of Digital Technologies. The lecture introduced digital platforms and tools useful for social and humanitarian science researchers. It also discussed methods such as data visualization, working with large datasets, and using digital archives to search for relevant literature.

Contribution to SDG 4. The speaker emphasized the contribution that research activities can make to achieving SDG 4—quality Education. He highlighted how modern technologies, such as big data analysis, can help identify barriers in the education system and develop strategies to improve educational processes and ensure equal access to knowledge.

Importance of Interdisciplinary Research. Yermek Baurzhanovich stressed the importance of combining efforts from representatives of various disciplines to study complex social problems such as inequality in education and access to knowledge. An interdisciplinary approach allows for a deeper exploration of phenomena and the development of practical solutions.

The lecture became a valuable platform for young researchers, providing them with practical recommendations to improve their skills in writing scientific papers and inspiring them for further research. Participants noted that using modern technologies in research projects opens new opportunities for analyzing complex social issues.
