At the Scientific Council of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Director of the Department of Academic Affairs, Bakhyt Rakhymbekova, delivered a report on the topic "Updating Educational Programs". Additionally, the members of the Scientific Council were presented with a presentation on the topic "The State and Development Prospects of the Inclusive Environment at the University".

The algorithm for updating educational programs includes the analysis of Kazakhstan’s and international experience with focus groups in faculties, forecasting the student body for the new academic year, discussions and approval of updated educational programs with academic committees in the fields of staff training, and more. For example, the course "Fundamentals of Financial Literacy" was added to the elective component of the General Education Block (GEB) in the bachelor's program. This decision was adopted at the meeting of the Ministry of Education and Science’s Academic Methodological Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as stated in the protocol dated December 20, 2023, in Astana.

Educational programs for the master's and doctoral programs in the field of scientific and pedagogical training have been updated in accordance with the professional standard approved by higher education institutions and postgraduate educational organizations (Order No. 591 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 20, 2023). Additionally, a decision was made to replace 9-credit courses with 5 and 6-credit courses.

Overall, in the current academic year, 568 educational programs are being implemented at the university, including 477 updated and 42 new programs, as well as seven dual-degree programs with leading foreign partner universities.

The Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, emphasized the necessity of introducing innovative teaching methods and applying modern technologies to the educational process. He also drew attention to the issue of revising and updating the content of educational programs to provide students with relevant knowledge and skills that align with the labor market demands in the context of rapid technological development.
