"Does a healthy lifestyle lead to well-being?"

On January 14, 2025, the International Student TED Talks Conference on the topic: "Does a healthy lifestyle lead to well-being?" was held at the Kazakh-Russian Medical University. More than 30 students from different universities: Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, "Adilet" Higher School of Law of the Caspian University, KIMEP University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, ALT University and the international students of the Kazakh-Russian Medical University took part in the conference. The students gave short TED-style talks on the various topics, such as: "The role of preventive care in well-being", "Accessibility of healthcare and its impact on mental health", "Cultural perceptions of well-being in modern medicine". 9 participants were awarded the Diplomas of I, II and III places. Among them there were are the students of our university.
The first place was taken by Diana Moldaniyazova, the 1st year student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University who was supervised by Manat Dzhamaldinova, the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages. The topic of her talk was "Health inequality: a barrier to well-being”.
The second place was taken by Akerke Zhakypkazy, the 1st year student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The topic of the talk was "The role of psychosomatic health in achieving well-being: Does healthcare solve the mind-body connection?". Nadezhda Bershina, the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages supervised the student.
The third place was taken by Zhanerke Zhaksybaikyzy, the student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The topic of her speech was "Healthcare of the future: learning Chinese for the development of medicine." Assel Shayakhmet, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages was the supervisor of the given student.
