SDG-4: Students watched the play "The Smell of Wormwood" at the theater

On February 6, 2nd-year students of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation of the Philological Faculty of our university watched the play "The Smell of Wormwood" based on the work of the writer Sain Muratbekov at the Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth named after G. Musrepov.
The work "The Smell of Wormwood" is a work that realistically depicts the post-war life of the people, the life of the Kazakh village, the life of contemporaries. The plot describes the events that occurred at a certain point in the life of a teenager named Ayan. The story tells about the inner life of Ayan, about the mental pain that is stronger than the pain of a sprained ankle, since her father went to war, her mother died, and her only grandmother died waiting for her brother to return from the war.
This performance made a special impression on the audience. This was noticeable from the students' reactions and thoughts about the performance after the performance. The students' reviews of the performance contributed to a deeper understanding of the social significance of the play and the development of critical thinking about the topics raised in it.
