SDG-4: Students watched the play "Әпке" (Sister)
Students from the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science attended the play "Әпке" at the Gabit Musrepov Youth Theater. This dramatic work, written by the famous writer and playwright, recipient of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dulat Isabekov, in 1977, is a two-act play.
The main character of the play is Kamazhai, a woman who has overcome life's hardships and cares deeply for her brothers and sisters. She has dedicated her life to their well-being, worrying about their future and forgetting about her own personal life. The moment when she rejects Kabden’s proposal with the words: “Kabden, it’s... it’s hard, I cannot abandon my brothers; they are still children to me, I doubt they can live on their own…” highlights her love and concern for her siblings.
The drama begins with a tense situation that gradually develops. Initially, Temirbek brings his girlfriend, or rather his future fiancée, to the house. At this moment, a single glance from Nazila sparks a quarrel, and Gauhar, feeling offended, leaves. Overall, Kamazhai is a very polite, kind person, but after being pressured from all sides, she becomes ill. Kabden’s proposal was unexpected, and she rejects it without thinking. However, there is a huge feeling in her heart that she cannot suppress. When Kamila has an abortion, Kamazhai, in an emotional outburst, slaps her. This causes Temirbek to leave the house. In despair, Kamazhai even goes so far as to ask for forgiveness from her daughter-in-law. However, in the end, Temirbek returns and apologizes. The drama "Әпке" is based on real events, and through the touching emotions and genuine portrayals of the characters, it leaves a deep impression on the audience.
At the end of the performance, the students took a commemorative photo, shared their impressions, and expressed that this cultural event had a significant spiritual impact on them.
