Nazereke Khamitova, a PhD student of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, underwent a scientific internship at Sangmen University (South Korea) from September 11 to October 27, 2024, under the supervision of Professor Kim San Hon. During the internship, significant results were achieved, contributing to the development of scientific research activities and international cooperation.

Key Achievements of the Internship:
Analysis of Scientific Literature and Preparation of Publications: As part of the internship, a comprehensive analysis of scientific literature on the dissertation topic was conducted. Together with Professor Kim San Hon, a scientific article was prepared, and interview questions were developed for the research titled "A Study on Opportunities and Challenges of Digitizing Cultural Content: Focusing on South Korean UNESCO Cultural Heritages."
Expanding Academic Contacts: Professor Kim San Hon provided the opportunity to discuss the dissertation work and meet PhD students and professors at Sangmen University. In particular, the research of Professor Park Jin Ho on the digitization of cultural heritage was explored.
Access to Leading Scientific Resources: Access to Korean scientific databases such as DBpia and RISS enabled the collection of valuable materials that enriched the theoretical framework of the research.
Study of Specialized Literature: Professor Kim San Hon provided books related to the research topic, including "Introduction to Digital Archaeology" by Choi In Hwa and "Digital Heritage 3D Recording and Utilization of Cultural Heritage" by Ahn Jae Hong and Kim Jun Sik, which contributed to a deeper understanding of the subject.
Attending Lectures and Mastering Modern Technologies: Attending lectures on the subject of Digital Archaeology provided an opportunity to study the processes of digitizing historical heritage, international programs such as ASEAN Digital Heritage, EU Europeana Strategy, UNESCO Charter of Digital Heritage, and technologies like 3D scanning, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Extended Reality (XR).

The internship helped expand scientific contacts and gain experience that will be used in further scientific work and career development in the field of cultural heritage digitization.
