Kazakh Language is the Language of Legal Literacy and Legislation

15 april, 2025

On April 15, 2025, undergraduates and curators of the 1st year of  “Kazakh Philology” major an educational hour  on the topic: "Kazakh language is  legal literacy and legal language" was held with the 1st year students. In today’s society, the legal literacy of young people and their ability to master legal terminology in their native language is one of the key conditions for development. The main goal of the event was to enhance  the students’ legal knowledge,  to develop their skills in using legal norms accurately and clearly in Kazakh, and to introduce  them to  the features of the formal and official style of the language.

During the educational hour,  the students explored important concepts such as the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, child rights, and civil responsibility. They also analyzed the meanings of legal terms in Kazakh.

Throughout the session,  the students worked with legal texts in Kazakh and learned how to express their rights and obligations using appropriate legal language in various real-life situations.

The event served as an effective step toward expanding  the students’ worldviews and improving their legal literacy. Additionally, it contributed to enhancing the status of the Kazakh language as the state language and promoted its use in the legal field.

The topic and discussions held during the session were well-received by the students. As most of the participants were Russian-speaking learners, the session was conducted entirely in the Kazakh language.
