14 april, 2025

Today, preparing competitive specialists who meet labor market demands has become a top priority for universities. In this context, on April 14, 2025, the Department of Turkic Studies and Language Theory at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a national roundtable discussion on the topic:  "Linguistic Expertise in the Modern Educational Space of Kazakhstan: Current Issues and Future Directions."

The event was organized in collaboration with the Institute of Legislation and Legal Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Interregional Center for Forensic Examinations of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Southeast Branch). The roundtable was held within the framework of a government-funded scientific project AP19677520 “Conflictogenic texts in Kazakh-speaking mass media: forensic linguistic parameters of language offense”, led by PhD in Philology and Associate Professor A.K. Tausogharova.

The main goal was to evaluate the effectiveness of the "7M02325 — Philological Expertise" educational program and to align it with the real-world needs of employers and stakeholders. Discussions also focused on integrating artificial intelligence and digital tools into the curriculum.

The event was opened by Professor Raushan Avakova, Head of the Department. The program continued with presentations from experts: B.K. Syzdyk (Institute of Legislation), N.M. Primashev (Turan-Astana University), and Z. Abdulzhanova (Forensic Center), along with faculty and doctoral students from KazNU.

Key issues addressed included linguistic analysis of fake news on social media, cyberbullying, and the application of AI in phonogram and text analysis. Participants proposed concrete steps to enhance the curriculum's relevance and applicability.
