Meeting with a Representative of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU. SDG 9 and SDG 17

On May 17, 2025, the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a working meeting with Professor Sharof Rakhimov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Head of the Department of Physics at Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute (Republic of Uzbekistan).

The Faculty of Physics and Technology was represented by Dr. Nurzada Beissen, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Dean of the Faculty. During the meeting, prospects for academic and scientific cooperation between the two universities were discussed.

Founded in 1930, Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute is one of the leading teacher training institutions in Uzbekistan. The institute offers undergraduate and graduate programs in pedagogy, psychology, and other educational fields. Currently, the institute has over 12,000 students and a faculty of approximately 400 professors and lecturers (buxdpi.uz).

During the meeting, the following areas of cooperation were discussed:

  • Implementation of joint research projects and publications in the field of physics;
  • Participation in international grant programs, including those under the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Particular attention was given to issues of sustainable development and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as:

  • SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation;
  • SDG 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

The Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU continues to actively expand international cooperation, strengthening ties with leading regional universities and integrating into the global scientific and educational community.
