Training Workshop Best Practices in Qualitative Research held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University on May 29, 2025, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science.

A comprehensive training workshop was  organized for doctoral students and faculty members. This dynamic and insightful session focused on advanced qualitative approaches, the integration of AI tools in research, and modern data collection and analysis methods.

The distinguished resource person for the workshop was Dr. Rab Nawaz Lodhi, Associate Professor at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, and Senior Research Fellow at Virscend University, California, USA. Dr. Lodhi, a post-doctoral fellow from the University of South Florida, USA, has an impressive academic profile, including 86 Scopus-indexed publications and an h-index of 15 in Scopus DB. He has delivered training workshops in 14 different countries and served as Guest Editor for the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology (SSCI, Scopus Q1-ranked), published by Emerald.

This highly engaging and practical session was extremely beneficial for the participants. Doctoral students gained valuable insights into applying advanced research techniques for effectively completing their dissertations and increasing their publication output in Scopus-indexed journals. Faculty members also expressed enthusiasm to utilize the best practices discussed in the session for developing funded research projects and producing high-impact publications.

The workshop was a significant step toward strengthening research competencies and promoting a culture of academic excellence at al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
