Students' training practice in laboratories

At the outset, the aims, objectives and content of the practice were discussed. The timing and form of current and final control were announced. The program of practice, individual tasks and practice diaries were issued. Passed an introductory briefing on safety and labor protection: got acquainted with the safety rules in the laboratory. An excursion with a demonstration of laboratory installations took place, and it was also possible to get acquainted with some laboratories of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. The petrochemical laboratory is aimed at studying the chemical composition and properties of oil and its products. During the practice, the students got acquainted with the main components of oil (paraffins, naphthenes, aromatic hydrocarbons) and knew their physicochemical properties. Experience in the laboratory allows you to assess the quality of petroleum products, understand processing methods and choose environmentally friendly technologies. Using electrochemical processes, batteries based on lithium and sodium are created. In the laboratory of analytical chemistry and the environment, we got acquainted with modern analytical instruments. In the laboratory of organic chemistry, methods for the synthesis and purification of organic compounds were shown. Also at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology KazNU im. Al-Farabi passed the 64th Day of the Chemist. The event was dedicated to element No. 64 - Gadolinia (Gd). Students learned about the use of gadolinium in medicine and technology. A video is shown about the success of the faculty, scientific and social life, graduates. In honor of the 55th and 5th anniversary of the graduates, touching video memories were shown. The performances of current alumni have been inspiring. The atmosphere of the holiday reflected the spirit of unity of chemists and strengthened the desire to contribute to the profession.
