On September 18, 2025, at 16:00, in room 306 of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a meeting of the academic staff was held to discuss participation in international research fellowships and mobility programs, including Fulbright, TechWomen, Bolashaq, Erasmus+, CERN Fellowship, JINR Fellowship.

The meeting was conducted by the Vice-Dean for Research and International Relations, Svetlana Leonidovna Peshaya.

Faculty members from all departments participated in the event, regardless of whether they held a PhD degree.

Programs

  • Fulbright — provides opportunities for faculty and researchers to conduct research and participate in fellowships at leading U.S. universities.

  • TechWomen — supports women in STEM fields by offering internships and mentoring programs in the United States.

  • Bolashaq — Kazakhstan’s state scholarship program that enables study and internships at top foreign universities.

  • Erasmus+ — a European program allowing faculty and researchers to take part in exchanges and joint educational projects with universities in EU countries.

  • CERN Fellowship — offers scientists and engineers opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research in high-energy physics at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

  • JINR Fellowship — an international exchange program for young scientists and researchers at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia).

  • MSCA (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) — an EU program that supports researchers at all career stages and promotes participation in international and cross-sectoral projects.

  • Orhun — an academic exchange program for students and faculty of universities in member states of the Organization of Turkic States, aimed at strengthening educational and cultural cooperation.

Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4. Quality Education — expanding academic opportunities and professional development for faculty members.

  • SDG 17. Partnerships for the Goals — strengthening international ties and enhancing cooperation in science and education.

The meeting contributed to raising awareness among faculty members about opportunities to participate in leading international research and mobility programs, as well as to defining the prospects for the further development of international cooperation of the faculty.
