On September 9, 2025, PhD Zh.A. Supiyeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis, and Petrochemistry at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, conducted a class on the discipline “Applied Molecular Spectroscopy” for 2nd-year students of the English-speaking group in the educational program 7M05301 – Chemistry. The session incorporated resources from the JoVE (Journal of Visualized Experiments) platform.
The class was held with the participation of Mahima Mohandas, a Customer Success Specialist from JoVE, who visited KazNU on a business trip from September 8 to 10, together with Azgi Almamedova. They represent a team that actively collaborates with universities to integrate visual scientific content into the educational process.
During the session, an interactive quiz was conducted in collaboration, which significantly increased student engagement. A customized video playlist was also used: https://app.jove.com/playlist?plid=10616591
The KazNU Library provides access to JoVE’s extensive collection of scientific and educational videos, covering a wide range of disciplines. With the support of the JoVE team, KazNU instructors received:
- assistance in selecting video materials for lectures and lab sessions;
- ideas for creating interactive assignments and quizzes;
- recommendations for effectively integrating videos into teaching and research.
The integration of JoVE's multimedia resources makes the educational process more visual, engaging, and productive, helping students better understand complex scientific concepts.
JoVE is the world-leading producer of scientific videos, with the mission to enhance the quality of scientific research and education worldwide.
