Digital literacy courses launched in rural regions

24 september, 2025

The Institute for Advanced Training and Continuing Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has launched digital literacy programs in rural regions, starting from Zhambyl district of Almaty region. The first courses were held at Teltay Sarsenbetov Secondary School and Targap Secondary School.

The main goal of these courses is to provide rural residents and teachers with the opportunity to master modern digital technologies. Participants learned to use computer software, improve internet safety, process data, and work with online platforms. They showed great interest in the program and expressed their gratitude to the organizers.

This initiative aligns with the Address of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who emphasized the importance of ensuring digital equality, expanding access to technologies in rural regions, and enhancing the quality of education.

The courses mark only the beginning of a long-term project. In the future, the program will be expanded with online modules, training in artificial intelligence-based tools, and practical guidance on using digital services. This will strengthen digital culture, improve the education system in rural areas, and contribute to building a more competitive generation.
