The world news agency “Xinhua” published an interview with Fatimabibi Daulet: the role of education and science in the discourse of cultural dialogue

On October 12, Xinhua News Agency released an exclusive video interview with Professor Fatimabibi Nogaykyzy Daulet, a prominent Kazakh sinologist and Associate Professor at the Department of Chinese Studies. In the conversation, Professor Daulet shared her life journey and professional path, recalling that her interest in the Chinese language and culture emerged in her youth – inspired by the works of Lu Xun and Lao She, as well as by her family, where diligence, education, and foresight were deeply valued. Professor Daulet emphasized that she sees the mission of a teacher as educating the individual through knowledge, since true education begins with the formation of one’s character. Professor Daulet also spoke about how she managed to balance her career and family life, about the role of women in science, and how today’s young women find it easier to pursue their goals in academic and professional fields. Special attention in the interview was devoted to the topic of intercultural translation.
Professor stressed that her dream is to educate a new generation of highly qualified translators capable of producing work that fully reflects the cultural context.
