International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage: round table for students of the «Ecology» EP
On October 17, the world celebrated the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which was established in honor of the adoption of the UNESCO Convention on the Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This holiday reminds us of the importance of preserving traditions, customs, and cultural practices that are passed down from generation to generation and are an integral part of national identities.
Following the calls of the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, students of the Ecology educational program held a round table in the 15th dormitory, where they discussed the cultural traditions of their peoples. The event was a great opportunity for students to share knowledge about their cultures and communicate in an informal setting, exchange experiences and learn more about each other's cultures. Anastasia Khristich, a student with Serbian roots, spoke about the traditions of her ancestors and the peculiarities of Serbian culture. Arina Fadeeva shared the cultural features and the importance of traditions inherent in Russian culture. Islam Koshoev, a student from Kyrgyzstan, spoke about the cultural traditions of his homeland, including the importance of hospitality and the role of family in society.
The round table not only became a useful platform for knowledge exchange, but also allowed the participants to deepen their knowledge about other cultures. The event was attended by curators Khamitova K. and Tussupova B., who also supported the active discussion, noting the importance of preserving cultural heritage and respecting the diversity of peoples. This day has become an important reminder of how important it is to preserve and transmit cultural values, and how much we can learn from each other by immersing ourselves in the traditions of different nations.
