As part of one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – Goal No. 4 “Quality Education” – an important event was organized.
On October 22, 2025, students of group 304 from the Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with their curator, PhD in Law, Associate Professor N.K. Mynbatyrova, visited the Mukhtar Auezov Library, which is part of the Centralized Library System of the Department of Culture of Almaty city, within the framework of the “Farabi BookWave: University Reader” project.
The main goal of the event was to increase students’ interest in reading, promote a culture of reading, and enhance the level of education and spiritual development.
Library staff conducted an extensive presentation about the institution’s history, structure, and its collection of rare literary works. Students also became acquainted with the library’s modern digital features, electronic catalogs, and new services for readers.
During the event, students exchanged opinions about their favorite books, emphasizing that literature encourages people to think, explore, and grow spiritually. In addition, a reading challenge titled “One Week – One Book” was launched.
This project aims to develop students’ critical and creative thinking skills, foster their motivation to read, and strengthen respect for spiritual values. Such initiatives broaden young people’s cultural horizons and provide opportunities for self-improvement through reading.
The “Farabi BookWave” project is a meaningful initiative aimed at promoting sustainable reading culture among youth and strengthening the spiritual connection between the university and society.
At the end of the event, students emphasized that reading is not only a source of knowledge but also a life school that shapes thoughtful, educated, and spiritually rich individuals.
