28 october, 2025

On October 28, 2025, the lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages — G.A. Orazayeva, M.T. Dzgamaldinova, K.T. Muldabekova, M.S. Almugambetova, and A.A. Kassymbekova — organized a round table discussion  on the topic:“Is Quality Education a Privilege of Rich Countries?” within the framework of  the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education) initiative. The event was attended by students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, as well as students from Xinjiang and Urumqi Universities (China).

Students from other countries also took part online by sending video messages:

— Dayana Akhmedova, student of MIB School of Management di Trieste (Italy),

— Kim In Seo, student of Kyungman University, Busan (South Korea),

— Ethan, student of Islamic University of Science & Technology (Kashmir),

— Almat, student of Xiamen University (Malaysia).

Participants shared their views on the education systems in Kazakhstan and in the countries where they study, compared the quality of education in developed and developing countries, and presented their own findings. The discussion was interactive — students asked each other questions, exchanged opinions, and took part in a Kahoot Quiz.

In conclusion, they reflected on key questions such as what defines quality education, what its main characteristics are, how equal opportunities in education can be ensured, and what schools might look like by the year 2050. The event was conducted in English.
