Educational Excursion of KazNU Students to the Akhmet Baitursynov Museum within the Framework of the SDG “Quality Education”
On November 4, 2025, an educational event took place at the Akhmet Baitursynov Museum, organized by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the implementation of one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — “Quality Education.”
Students from the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science visited the museum dedicated to Akhmet Baitursynov — a prominent Kazakh educator, scholar, poet, and public figure who made a tremendous contribution to the development of national science, education, and culture.
The event was organized by the faculty members of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies: Doctor of Philosophy, Professor N.Zh. Baitenova, Candidate of Philosophy, Professor K.M. Bishmanov, Associate Professor Zh.U. Kantarbayeva, as well as the supervisor of the scientific research practice, Associate Professor, Acting Professor M.R. Baltymova.
Active participation in the organization and implementation of the event was taken by second-year doctoral students in Religious Studies: A.A. Alimkhanova, U.N. Kalyakbar, and B.B. Nurgaliev.
The excursion aimed to broaden students’ horizons, foster patriotism, and develop interest in the history of national education. Participants learned about the life and legacy of Akhmet Baitursynov, his contribution to the development of the Kazakh language, literature, and the “Alash” movement.
Particular interest was drawn to the museum’s unique exhibits — rare documents, archival photographs, personal belongings, and manuscripts of the great thinker. The guide provided detailed insights into the significance of Baitursynov’s works in the formation of the Kazakh writing system and the development of national education.
The event took place in a warm and educational atmosphere. Students noted that such meetings help to deepen their understanding of spiritual heritage, inspire young people to study the history and culture of Kazakhstan, and foster a sense of national pride.
The visit to the Akhmet Baitursynov Museum became an important part of the department’s educational and upbringing activities, contributing to the implementation of the principles of sustainable development and the formation of an educated, patriotic, and responsible young generation ready to contribute to Kazakhstan’s future.
