Students' career opportunities will expand
Representatives of the leading insurance company Freedom Finance Insurance met with students and undergraduates of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of al-Farabi Kazakh National University in order to strengthen ties between the industry and the university and expand students' career opportunities.
The event was attended by university students enrolled in the Actuarial Mathematics educational program.
The event was organized by the Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics on the initiative of Associate Professor, Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, licensed actuary M.B.Sikhov, with the support of the head of the Department, PhD, Associate Professor A.N.Temirbekov and Deputy Head of the Department for Educational, Methodical and educational work Z.I.Suleimenova.
The meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, PhD, Dr. J.M.Bektemesov, who provided detailed information about the faculty and its activities.
The invited speakers were: PhD, Chairman of the Management Board of Freedom Finance Insurance JSC Azamat Kerimbayev, Director of the Actuarial Calculations Department, licensed actuary Aizhan Shukatayeva, Director of the Data Analysis Department Zhanat Romanova.

During the Q&A session, students and undergraduates received specific information about career paths, internship content, and technical skill requirements.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on employment: the company confirmed its readiness to hire at least five graduates of the Actuarial Mathematics program annually. In addition, it is planned to award a monthly scholarship in the amount of 100,000 tenge to the best undergraduate students. For students of the paid department with high academic performance, the company is ready to pay 50% of the tuition fee.
In order to provide educational support, the company's specialists will regularly conduct thematic lectures and practical classes. It is also possible to provide assignments based on real corporate data for graduation projects, as well as guidance and provision of statistical materials to students. The company expressed its willingness to participate in equipping specialized classrooms and providing students with the necessary equipment.
The meeting was an important step in strengthening the bridge between the academy and industry, bringing the content of education closer to the requirements of the labor market. An agreement was reached on a long-term partnership between the university and the industry, including the implementation of joint educational programs and projects.
