SDG No.16: Al-Farabi KazNU Students Discussed the “Law and Order” Ideologeme

11 november, 2025

At the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a curatorial hour was held to promote legal culture and advance the “Law and Order” ideologeme among young people.
The event was attended by first-year students majoring in Psychology, and was conducted by adviser Seitnur Zharas.

The main purpose of the session was to enhance students’ legal awareness, foster civic responsibility, and strengthen their understanding of legal culture. In her address, the adviser emphasized the importance of such initiatives in shaping students’ respect for the law and deepening their comprehension of justice and order as core social values.

During the meeting, first-year students Nurtas Saparali and Laura Khachatryan presented their research project entitled:
“A Psychological Analysis of Students’ Perception of the Concepts ‘Law,’ ‘Order,’ and ‘Justice’.”

The study aimed to identify how modern students perceive these three key concepts, exploring their interrelations and semantic distinctions. Conducted in an online format, the survey included both open and closed questions, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of students’ attitudes not only from a quantitative but also from a moral and social standpoint.

The findings revealed that for today’s students, law represents not restriction, but a guarantee of stability and harmony in society; order is seen as a reflection of responsibility and internal discipline; and justice is perceived as a value intertwined with honesty, equality, kindness, and a sense of truth.

The curatorial hour not only improved students’ legal literacy but also contributed to shaping their understanding of law and justice in society, reinforcing their civic and moral values.
