Organization of educational work with foreign students
Educational work in higher education institutions is an integral part of the educational process as a whole. It is at the university that, having completed the school of collectivism, internationalism, and creative associations, the student acquires solid life guidelines, organizational skills, and personal qualities necessary in any profession. Along with solving the tasks of the educational process, the university is obliged to create conditions for self-development and self-affirmation of the individual, improving the student's abilities. The process of education is impossible without the progressive harmonious development of personality.
The education of foreign citizens in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the most important component in creating an attractive image of our country. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has extensive experience in teaching students from around the world. Despite the great competition in this field, the interest of foreign citizens in studying at Al-Farabi University remains at a high level. The task of teachers is not only to provide foreigners with high-quality knowledge, but also to form a positive attitude towards Kazakhstan. The Department of Language and General Education Training for Foreigners trains students who, upon returning home from their studies, will contribute to the development of partnerships for sustainable development. What will this contribution be? Much, if not all, depends on the teachers, supervisors, and advisors working with them.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which is a recognized leader in the university sector of fundamental and applied science, traditionally pays great attention to educational work. In recent years, in accordance with the requirements of the times, the university has been reforming not only the educational process, but also the educational process. The role of the curator-adviser is significant and cannot be overestimated. Learning a language involves understanding the culture, history, and mentality of the people and their native speakers. The role of the teacher is important here, who must unobtrusively and correctly cultivate respect for everything related to the concept of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Educational work is carried out constantly. This is the daily painstaking work of curators and advisors to create an atmosphere of mutual respect, friendship, internationalism, religious tolerance, and tolerance.
If we focus on specific events for educational work with students from abroad, then we are talking about curatorial hours of various formats, excursions, organization of concert programs, as well as performances by students on social networks, etc. The mandatory theme of the events is to introduce foreign citizens to the history, traditions and culture of the multinational people of our country, the multi–vector international policy of the country's leadership, and the role of Kazakhstan on the world stage. Advanced level students have the opportunity to learn about the current program speeches of the head of state K.-J.Tokayev. By participating in the traditional Farabi's World conference, foreign students, under the guidance of teachers, often choose topics directly related to what is new about our country, which they learn about while studying at the Department of Language and General Education Training for Foreigners.
As a result of the multifaceted work of teachers in and out of the classroom, important goals of the language acquisition process are achieved – the social adaptation of foreign students, as well as the formation of intercultural communication.
