Senior lecturer of the department, Serik Mominov, conducted an extracurricular lesson on the discipline “Automation of Tourist Services” for 4th-year students of the Tourism specialty. As part of the lesson, students were taken on a guided tour of the Алматы Museum of Arts. The main goal of the lesson was to demonstrate the practical application of digital technologies and automated solutions in modern cultural-tourism facilities.
The museum is new, having opened at the beginning of autumn. Its halls feature unique designs, modern multimedia solutions, and interactive exhibitions. The collection is still being formed, which makes the visit especially informative and relevant for students.
During the tour, students explored the electronic ticketing system, visitor flow management and analysis methods, multimedia exhibitions, digital installations, and interactive information panels. Special attention was given to how the museum uses technology to improve service quality, optimize navigation in the halls, and manage visitor flows. All these aspects were considered in the context of the “Automation of Tourist Services” discipline.
The lesson allowed students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical examples. The excursion enhanced their professional competencies and provided an opportunity to analyze real-life applications of digital services in the tourism sector.
