“AIDS and the Immune System: Health is in Our Hands”
On December 1, 2025, at the university, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Zoology, Histology, and Cytology, Mauyenova S.S., conducted an event for 2nd-year students of the 6B05102 – Biology program within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) titled “AIDS and the Immune System: Protecting Health is in Our Hands.”
The purpose of the event was to inform students about HIV/AIDS prevention methods, explain the role of the immune system in human health, promote safe lifestyle practices, and cultivate responsibility and awareness among young people regarding their own well-being. In addition, the event aimed to clearly explain the modes of HIV transmission and non-transmission, while addressing stigma and combating misinformation within society.

During the session, students received detailed explanations about the functions of the immune system, factors that weaken it, the mechanism by which HIV affects the body, the importance of early diagnosis, and effective modern treatment approaches. Students also shared their thoughts on safe behavior practices, protective measures for themselves and others, and the significance of voluntary testing.
This event contributes to the implementation of SDG No. 3 – “Good Health and Well-being.”
