In the modern system of teacher education, the combination of theory and practice is especially important, particularly in the training of chemistry teachers. The integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills plays a key role in developing the professional expertise of future specialists. In this context, the training organized by first-year graduate students Zarina Kanapiya and Fariza Alpan was conducted with the aim of motivating fourth-year students to choose the pedagogy track in the master’s program next year.

The primary goal of the training was to develop students’ pedagogical competence, as well as their critical thinking, creative, and teamwork skills, which altogether contribute to enhancing the professional expertise of future teachers. The program was designed to increase student engagement: following the introductory theoretical part, interactive games, practical tasks, and group discussions were conducted. At each stage, student participation was focused on fostering their activity, creative approach, and analytical thinking.

During the training, students mastered new methodological approaches to teaching chemistry and had the opportunity to apply their pedagogical practical skills in practice. In addition, working in groups allowed them to exchange experiences, listen to each other’s opinions, and learn to make joint decisions. As a result, students developed critical thinking skills and increased their motivation to choose a professional path in the field of pedagogy.

The significance of such trainings lies in their ability to help students combine theoretical knowledge with practice, thereby creating a foundation for preparing qualified specialists in the field of pedagogy. The event organized by first-year graduate students not only contributed to fourth-year students choosing the pedagogy track in the master’s program but also served as an effective tool for developing their professional and methodological competencies.

Thus, the experience of conducting the training is considered an important tool in the pedagogical education process for fostering students’ professional development and their pedagogical competence. In the future, such trainings can be used as a regular means to enhance students’ creative, critical, and professional skills.
