“Farabi Unicalm: A stress-resistant university” – a demo educational session aimed at strengthening students’ psychological well-being
At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a systematic set of educational activities aimed at preserving and supporting students’ psychological well-being is consistently implemented. One of the significant initiatives in this area was the open educational session on the topic: “Farabi Unicalm: A Stress-Resistant University”, conducted with students.

The educational session was led by Ali Sh. K., a first-year master’s student majoring in Digital Kazakh Language, and was organized within the framework of pedagogical practice under the supervision of Mukhamadi K. T., Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor of the A. Baitursynuly Department of Kazakh Linguistics.
In the modern context of higher education, a student should not only acquire academic knowledge but also develop as a psychologically stable individual capable of self-regulation. For first-year students in particular, the period of adaptation to university life is known to be emotionally challenging. From this perspective, the significance of the educational session was especially notable.
The key feature of the event was the creation of a safe and trusting environment based on open communication. Conducted in a seminar-training format, the session allowed students to openly discuss the topic of stress and to pay close attention to their emotions and inner states. This represented an important step toward self-awareness and the development of emotional literacy among students.
During the session, stress assessment tests, breathing techniques, elements of art therapy, and self-esteem exercises were implemented. These activities contributed to the development of psychological coping skills and helped students identify their internal resources. The practical tasks, in particular, increased student engagement and clearly demonstrated the connection between theory and practice.

In addition, exercises based on mutual support and warm interpersonal interaction strengthened trust, empathy, and group cohesion among students. This serves as an essential prerequisite for creating a positive psychological climate within the university environment.
In conclusion, the open educational session titled “Farabi Unicalm: A Stress-Resistant University” highlighted the importance of focusing on students’ psychological well-being, proactively managing stress levels, and supporting personal development. Such educational initiatives contribute to the holistic formation of future professionals, not only in a professional but also in a spiritual and psychological sense.
