Young scientists from KazNU took part in a large-scale international scientific and practical event aimed at understanding neurological diseases and combating them (SDG3, 17).
From October 5 to 7, 2025, the International Conference on Neuroscience and Neurology (ICNN)—an international scientific conference dedicated to current issues in neuroscience and neurology—was held in Astana at Nazarbayev University. The event has become a leading global platform for the exchange of ideas, scientific research, and innovations in the study of the nervous system, brain diseases, and mental disorders, as well as modern methods of diagnosis and treatment.
The conference brought together leading scientists, neurologists, researchers, clinicians, and industry representatives from Kazakhstan and other countries. The conference addressed current advances and key challenges in neurobiology, clinical neurology, neurodegenerative diseases, and translational research.
A poster presentation was presented in the "Brain Research" section, dedicated to research in the field of early detection of Alzheimer's disease biomarkers using modern neurophysiological, molecular, and cellular methods. The presented work aimed to discuss prospects for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases and expand approaches to studying the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease.
Participation in the International Conference on Neuroscience and Neurology (ICNN) contributes to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3 - ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages) by advancing scientific research aimed at the early diagnosis and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. Furthermore, the conference's international format and interdisciplinary scientific interaction reflect its contribution to achieving SDG 17 (partnerships for sustainable development) by strengthening scientific collaboration between research and educational institutions.
The knowledge gained and professional contacts established during the conference contribute to the further development of neuroscience research and the implementation of innovative approaches to the diagnosis of central nervous system diseases.
