SDG 3. “Electronic Cigarettes and Nasvai – A Hidden Threat”

26 december, 2025

As part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3), a curatorial lecture on the topic “Electronic Cigarettes and Nasvai – A Hidden Threat” was held for students.

The main purpose of the lecture was to explain, based on scientific evidence, the harmful effects of electronic cigarettes (vapes) and nasvai on human health, which are increasingly распространены among young people, as well as to prevent harmful habits and promote a healthy lifestyle. Nowadays, these products are often advertised as “less harmful” and a “safe alternative,” which misleads especially adolescents and young adults. However, behind this apparent safety lie numerous serious health risks.

During the lecture, the impact of nicotine contained in electronic cigarettes on the human body was discussed in detail. Nicotine is a toxic substance that causes addiction. It negatively affects the nervous and cardiovascular systems, increases blood pressure, and accelerates heart rate. In addition, vape liquids contain heavy metals and various chemical flavorings. These substances can lead to lung damage, inflammatory processes in the respiratory tract, and a weakened immune system. A number of studies indicate that the long-term effects of using electronic cigarettes have not yet been fully studied; however, the level of risk remains high.

Electronic cigarettes and nasvai, regardless of whether they are considered “modern” or “traditional,” pose a serious threat to human health. Every young person should think about their future, avoid harmful habits, engage in sports, maintain a balanced diet, and choose a healthy lifestyle. Such educational and awareness-raising activities make a significant contribution to the formation of a healthy and responsible generation.
