Young Researchers of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Took Part in the “QazScience” Session. SDG 4 and SDG 9

20 january, 2026

Young researchers of the Faculty of Physics and Technology took part in the “QazScience” scientific and academic session organized by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was held on 20 January 2026 in Almaty at the premises of the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA).

Within the framework of the session, the following key topics were presented and discussed:

  • “Methodological foundations for preparing applications for scientific and technical projects and programmes within the framework of grant and programme-targeted funding competitions”;

  • “Capacity-building projects in higher education within the Erasmus+ programme”.

During the seminar, participants examined national and international funding mechanisms, requirements for participation in competitive calls, structural and content-related aspects of proposal preparation, as well as effective practices for the implementation of research projects. Particular attention was paid to common mistakes made in competitive applications, ways to avoid them, and opportunities for expanding international academic cooperation.

Participation in the session contributed to the development of young researchers’ competencies in project activities, research management, and international collaboration. Representatives of the Faculty emphasized the practical relevance of the seminar for improving the quality of applications and increasing the success rate in research funding competitions.

The session is directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4 “Quality Education” — development of research and project competencies of students and young researchers, and strengthening the capacity of higher education;

  • SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” — support for scientific research and innovation activities, and the development of human capital for scientific and technological progress.

The Faculty of Physics and Technology will continue to support the participation of young researchers in such initiatives aimed at advancing science, international cooperation, and sustainable development.
