The East is tricky

The Faculty of Oriental Studies in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan organized a lecture on making compositions from living plants. Students of Kazakh National University acquainted with one of the most beautiful and ancient Japanese traditions. Sophistication, variety of forms and styles of ikebana found an echo in the hearts of students.

Flower master class was arranged by Professor Yamada Midori from Ikenobo Institute. Ikenobo School cherishes the centuries-old tradition of creating flower arrangements, and Professor Yamada Midori shares them with the students. The expert has the highest stage of the ancient school "Co-rink", she also a master of tea ceremony from Omoto Senke School and a master of Japanese sumi-e painting. Yamada Midori has been conducting lectures, courses and workshops on ikebana, tea ceremony and sumi-e worldwide for more than 20 years. She visits Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Armenia very often.

Prof. Midori revealed the interest of students to the unique techniques of floristic studies, demonstrated the beauty and charm of nature. In turn, students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies were able to create beautiful flower arrangements and discover their artistic taste.

Dean of the Faculty Bayan Dzhubatova, teachers and students through the development of floral compositions acquired the ability to find and reveal the beauty of the world and share it with others.
