Sakha scientists at the Faculty

Sakha scientists visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and met with the faculty of the TURKSOY department.

The honored guests were visited by the academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Russia Peter Alekseevich Sleptsov. Monastyrev Vladimir Dmitriyevich Monastyrev, the head of the project “Great explanatory dictionary of the Yakut language,” expressed that the main purpose of the delegation from Sakha is to get acquainted with Kazakhstani scientists. In addition, the “Explanatory Dictionary” of about 10 thousand pages contains about 80 thousand words and phraseological units of the Sakha language and their interpretation is a 15-volume dictionary in Russian in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The authors of the dictionaries, researchers: Vasilyeva Nadezhda Matveevna, Ammosova Nadezhda Nikolaevna, Nikonorovna Olga and others. In his speech, he noted that students and undergraduates of the department of TURKSOY will be able to use one copy of this dictionary in the library.

In his speech, the editor-in-chief of the dictionary “Great Explanatory Dictionary of the Sakha Language” Anatoly Gavrilyevich Nelunov noted that “the main purpose of the trip is to promote the values ​​of the Turkic world, the history and culture of Turkic peoples, and exchange experience.”

The scientist Sakha, academician Sleptsov Pyotr Alekseevich as the author of the Yakutsky Big Explanatory Dictionary noted that the language dictionary is a unique publication created by the latest explanatory dictionary methods in the Turkic languages, shared his experience with the faculty of the department.

At the end of the meeting, the dean of the faculty, Yktiyar Paltore, thanked the scientists for the time given to attend the conference. Stressing the importance of strengthening ties in the scientific and educational sphere. Countries have expressed interest in strengthening partnerships.
