STRENGTHENED PREPARATION FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
At the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, at a meeting of the Academic Council and the administration, issues of the university's readiness for the new academic year were discussed. The main speaker was Fatima Zhakypova, Member of the Management Board - Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
The speaker presented a general plan of preparation for the new academic year and spoke about the main preparatory activities. Before the new academic year, it is necessary to develop an algorithm for preparing for the academic year, an instructional letter, acts of readiness of faculties, an orientation week program. Also, the calculation of the load and the determination of the staff of the teaching staff is being worked out, an audit of the audit fund has been carried out and a schedule has been drawn up.
According to the speaker, from the beginning of the new educational process, access to all educational buildings and buildings on the campus will be carried out through the Ashyq system. Flexible scheduling and breaks at different times will be created. Students will use separate flights of stairs, the occupancy of classrooms and gyms will be 50%. In offline classes, students are seated in a checkerboard pattern and a social distance at a distance of two meters. It should be noted that sanitary safety is strictly observed at the university. All buildings are equipped with sanitizers, boxes for used masks, disinfection arches, and thermal imagers. As it was said, online meetings were started with students, where they explain the rules of the educational process, which will be carried out in accordance with the new requirements regarding the sanitary and epidemiological situation.
This year, 5260 students entered the bachelor's degree program at KazNU, of which 1200 will study on a paid basis. Compared to last year, the number of undergraduates is 22 percent higher. 2,150 were enrolled in master's studies, of which 150 were contracted. This overall figure is 15.2% higher than last year.
In preparation for the new 2021-2022 academic year, acting Vice-Rector for Social Development Aliya Masalimova. In her report, the speaker focused on the issue of ensuring the required level of vaccination for organizing the educational process in the 2021-2022 academic year. She also informed about the readiness to accept and provide housing for students. The settlement of nonresident students of KazNU in the hostels of the student campus and hostels will be carried out on a first come, first served basis, in accordance with the rules of the university for the provision of places.
At the meeting of the Academic Council and Rector's Office, Acting Vice-rector for administrative and economic activities Olzhas Esenalin, who announced the progress of repair work in the buildings and 12 hostels. The renovation work will be completed by 30 August.
The Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Tuimebayev Zhanseit Kanseituly instructed the deans to carefully study the issue of settling students and plan events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence, which should reflect the role of the university in the formation and development of sovereign Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, the Academic Council of KazNU adopted a resolution, within the framework of which the selection committee and responsible persons were instructed to complete the acceptance of documents, formalize contracts and personal files, orders for enrollment, prepare and send to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan a report on admission for the 2021-2022 academic year , to complete the preparation of classrooms and educational buildings in compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological regime. The vice-rectors were instructed to ensure the timely readiness of the educational process in the 2021-2022 academic year.
